Passed peacefully away on Monday, August 11th, 2008, Emma Lillian Piercey in her 94th year. Leaving to mourn her passing and celebrating her long life are her sons: Donald (Maxine), St. John’s, George (Lorraine), Victoria, BC, Gerry (Brenda), Middleton, NS, her daughters: Lucy (Late Maldwyn) Jennings, Corner Brook, Marilyn (Dale) Simmons, Labrador City; 10 grandchildren: Stanley, Debra, Rickie, Donald, Dean, Susan, Beverly, Valerie, Marilyn and Wendy, 3 step-grandchildren: Gerry, Stephen and Kathy and several great-grandchildren, her cousin George (Eileen) Piercey, St. John’s and several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed and remembered by her close friends and her extended family the staff members and friends at the Interfaith Home where she resided for 14 years. Her close personal friends Verdie Harris at the Interfaith Home, Lena Moore, St. John’s, Bernice Greene, McKays, Gerry and Diana Noseworthy, Stephenville. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s and All Angels’ Anglican Church, Park Drive on Thursday, August 14th at 2:00 PM with Archdeacon Edward King officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a Charity of One’s Choice.
