It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevieve Lainey announce her passing at West Bay on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the age of 74 years. She will be sadly missed by three sons: Lester (Pauline) Lainey of Mainland, Alcid (Pauline) Lainey of Mainland, Cyril (Gail) Lainey of Bedford, Nova Scotia, five daughters: Emiline (Michael) Gale of Guelph, Ontario, Eileen (Richard) Moraze of Guelph, Ontario, Joanne Lainey (Michael Cormier) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Zita (Felix) Hinks of Mainland, Ronalda (Gary) Chaisson of Brampton, Ontario, special companion, Malcolm Chaisson of Mainland, two sisters: Lucy Hall of Mainland, Mercees (Leo) Jesso of Stephenville, 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Anatole Lainey and her son, Sonny Lainey. Friends may call at St. Anne’s Chapel in Mainland on Wednesday from 6 - 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. at St. Anne’s Chapel, Mainland with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Mainland. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Anne’s Chapel Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville.
