It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Jones announce his passing on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at the DVA Unit of the J.I. O’Connell Centre at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Larry (Denise), Wayne (Patricia), Darryl (Trish), Lorraine, Ed (Darlene), Phyllis, Chris (Kelly), Mary (Keith), Peter and Paul (Lisa): daughter-in-law: Gloria; 33 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sisters: Evelyn Crocker and Nora Jackson; brothers: Jim (Margaret), Len (Maude), Bern (Josephine), Bob (Patricia) and Fred (Loretta); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Margaret, March 18, 2008; sons: Kevin and Douglas; infant daughter Sheila, parents, Benedict and Nora. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 24th at 1:00 p.m. from Sacred Heart Parish, Curling. Father Bernard Buckle officiating with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Sacred Heart Parish Fund or to the charity of one’s choice.
