It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gordon Retieffe announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the age of 67 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Elizabeth, one son, Rocky (Crystal) of Nova Scotia, grandsons: Ashton and Kaiden Retieffe of Nova Scotia, step-daughter, Mary Retieffe of Mainland, step-son, Terry Retieffe of Brampton, Ontario, step-grandsons: Cody Retieffe and Jeremy Jesso, three brothers: Jarvis (Laverna) Retieffe of Nova Scotia, George (Valerie) Retieffe of Lourdes, Jack Retieffe of Nova Scotia, eight sisters: Marjorie (James) Smith of Atlanta, Georgia, Helen (James) Greene of Lourdes, Barbara Retieffe-Spears of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Melita (William) Duffenais of London, Ontario, Teresa (Bernard) Collier of St. John’s, Mazzie Retieffe of London, Ontario, Laverna (Bryce) Hall of Three Rock Cove, Doris (William) Peters of Lourdes and sister-in-law, Barbara Retieffe of Lourdes and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pearl Retieffe, parents, George and Elizabeth Retieffe, brothers, Clyde Retieffe, Donald Retieffe and Clifton Young, sister, Marie Retieffe. Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Lourdes with Cremation to follow. Interment will take place in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Stephenville.
