It is with great sadness that the family of the late Henry William George announce his passing on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at the Central NL Regional Hospital, Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 87 years. Henry was born in Heart’s Content on September 29th, 1920 to Annie Butler and Theodore George. He married Annie Harris in 1944. George worked in the logging industry, he later moved to Corner Brook and worked with Imperial Optical until he retired. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Greta, Deer Lake, children: Agnes Holloway, Grand Falls-Windsor, Martin (Pam), Corner Brook, Gordon (Mary), Corner Brook, Calvin (Catherine), Nova Scotia, Joan (Dawson) Burton, Grand Falls-Windsor and Judy (Barry) Park, Cox’s Cove; 14 grandchildren: Denise, Darlene, Dawn, Melanie, Sherry, Wanda, Nancy, Neil, Clayton, Brooke, Krista, Natasha, Sarah and Cassaundra, 6 great-grandchildren: Brett, Kyle, Drake, Jada, Amber and Logan. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Annie and Theodore, infant daughter, first wife Annie, second wife Gertrude and many brothers and sisters. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Visitation will continue at the Pentecostal Tabernacle, Elizabeth Street on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 2:00 PM with Pastor Calvin Andrews officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Mission Fund at the Pentecostal Tabernacle.
