Passed peacefully away on Monday, May 19th, 2008 at the J.I. O’Connell Centre, Herbert Gosse, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Jean (nee Smith) of 61 years; daughters: Mereda (Marie) (Ron) Preece, White Rock, BC, Joan, Burnaby, BC, Linda (Pat) Walsh, Mission, BC and Margaret (Rex) Pittman, St. Paul’s, NL; sons: David, Alberta, Bruce, Massey Drive and Keith, Massey Drive; sisters: Emma Rose, Louise (Glen) Chaulk and Jean (Don) Scevior; brothers: Charles (Sylvia) Gosse and Edwin (Rose) Gosse; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice Gosse and granddaughter, Nancy. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the Doctors and Staff for all their wonderful care and attention given to Herbert. Visitation will take place from Fillatr’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at 2:00 p.m. from the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, Main Street. Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
