Leroy White passed away peacefully on October 29, 2008 in his 81st year surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his wife of 54 years, Greta (O’Neil) and his seven surviving children, Brock (Brenda Moulton), Sherry, Carolyn (Dale MacLachlan), Tammy (Tom Scott), Laurie (Paul Hader), Perry (Rhonda Jewer), Rachelle (Dave Lutwick), 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brothers, Leslie and Leonard, sisters, Cecilia, Barbara, Marina, Mary, Edie, Linda and Elaine. He was predeceased by his children, Randy and Myra, his granddaughter, Elizabeth, brothers, Herman, Kevin and his sister, Alma. Leroy retired from the Stephenville Fire Department in 1985 after 20 years of service. He will be fondly remembered as a man of great wit who loved the outdoors and always provided well for his family. Not one of his children would change a single thing about him. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville with cremation to follow. Interment will take place at a later date.
