Passed peacefully away in Montreal, September 22nd, in his 97th year. WWII veteran. Leaving to mourn and with fond memories, Erminia, wife of 50 plus years, grandson Adam (Hamilton, Ont. formerly St. John's), sons Mike (Montreal), and Mario (Alexandria, Ont.), and good friend, Marian Atkinson (St. John's), as well as a large extended family, and numerous friends in Montreal and the United States.SMITH, Margaret Agatha M. A. (nee Laing)– Passed peacefully away after a long battle with cancer on September 25, 2008 at the L.A. Miller Center, Margaret Agatha M.A. Laing, age 57 years. Predeceased by her mother and father Mercedes and Cecil Laing; sisters Lorraine and Elizabeth Laing. Left to treasure her memory her husband David, son Barry, daughter Barbara (Glenn); grandchildren Brian and Michael. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, other close family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008 from Barrett's Chapel. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Rd.
