It is with great sadness that the family of the late Martin Gallant announce his passing at the O’Connell Centre, Corner Brook on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the age of 88 years. He will be sadly missed by his son, William Gallant of Stephenville; two daughters: Mary (Fred) Dutcher of Stephenville and Laura Gallant of Fort McMurray, Alberta; one brother, Lawrence Gallant of Stephenville; one sister, Bertha Madore of Stephenville; eight grandchildren: Christine Gallant, Janice Gallant, Derek Gallant, Lesley Trancoso, David Dutcher, Darryl Dutcher, Leanne Hawco and Cheryl Hawco; 11 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Gallant. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, March 16th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville, with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre Memorial Fund would be greatly appreciated.
