It is with great sadness that the family of the late Neil J. Simon announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the age of 81 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Madonna and two daughters: Cynthia (Glen) Jardine of New Brunswick, Sylvia (Greg) Tschritter of Botha, Alberta, two brothers: Ernest Simon of Stephenville, Benjamin Simon of Ontario, four sisters: Lucy Simon of Cape St. George, Agnes Keating of Cape St. George, Monica Simon of Alberta, Ameldia (Willie) Chappell of Kansas City, eight grandchildren: Courtney (Colin) Williams, Chelsea Bowers, Joshua Bowers, Jessica Bowers, Tammy Jardine, Jaden Jardine, Vanessa Jardine, Matthew Jardine, six great grandchildren: Julian, Jacob, Chloe, Caleb, Emily and Benjamin and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary, Florence, Bertina and his parents, Adolph and Cecilia Simon. Cremation has taken place and friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Parish, Cape St. George with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cape St. George. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
