Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. Michael James Oakley, aged 56 years. Predeceased by his loving parents: Michael (1962) and Frances (1998). Mike was a wonderful brother, brother-in-law and uncle. Left to treasure his memory are his four loving sisters: Patricia (Late Alfred Ivany), Sheila (Bob), Marg (Don) and Marilyn (Alf); three brothers: Patrick (Cathy), Edward and Raymond; very dear family friend: Rosalind White; special niece and caregiver: Jodie O'Neill as well as other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, family, friends, colleagues and his buddie Billy House. Mike dedicated his entire life to his job at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital. He reluctantly took an early retirement three years ago due to his illness. He was also a life-long member of the Terra Nova Council Branch 1452 and a 4th degree member of the Arch Bishop Howley Assembly. Mike touched the hearts of everyone who had a chance to meet him. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 30th, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist Church. Cremation to follow. Inurnment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008.
