It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phoebe MacDonald announces her passing at the Dr. J.I. O’Connell Centre on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the age of 85 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: May Tucker, Leona White (Bernard), Stella Parsons (Garwin), Kathleen Squires (Ken), Cecil MacDonald (Eleanor), Alex MacDonald (Patsy), Juanita Williams (Cliff), Reg MacDonald (Daphne), Roger MacDonald (Monique), Darrell MacDonald (Lori-Lynn), Joanne Henderson (Scott), Sandra Hunt (Paul), Lawrence MacDonald (Tammy), Betty McLeod (Dale); 40 grandchildren, 26, great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Laura Park, and Luella Sheehan (Mike); brother: Alexander Strickland; brother-in-law: William MacDonald; sister-in-law: Betty Lamshire; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Edward MacDonald (1988), and her infant daughter Elizabeth. Visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, October 31, 2008 at 2 pm from St. Ambrose Anglican Church, John’s Beach with Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the St. Ambrose Anglican Church Fund.
