It is with great sadness that the family of the late Phyllis Duffney announces her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on February 11, 2009 in her 80th year. She will be sadly missed by her four sons: Jack (Betty), Terry (Olive), of Benoits Cove, Howard of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Gerard Jr. of Corner Brook, her five daughters: Dorothy (Herbert) Lundrigan of St. Lawrence, Pauline (Sam) Lavalle of Port au Choix, Barbara (Derek) Morrison of Mount Moriah, Joann (Edward) Walsh of Corner Brook and Karen (Arthur) Furey of Avondale, also her 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 7 step grand- children, one sister, Doreen Sheppard of Corner Brook and one brother, Patrick (Nora) Curtis of Benoits Cove. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Clara and Peter Curtis, two daughters, two sons and her brother-in-law, Chris Sheppard. The family will be receiving friends at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 7-9 p.m., Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of The Sea in Benoits Cove with internment at the church cemetery As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
