It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stanley Lloyd Chipman, Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late John and Louise (Hardy) Chipman.
Stan worked for over 30 years as an iron worker for Devco; and, was enjoying his retirement by spending time with his family and friends. He put much love and energy into his woodworking hobby and provided unique crafts for mom's tole painting. And, many a household is graced with one of the many fiddles he made.
Left to mourn his loss is his wife and best friend of 53 years, Claire (Nightingale); his children, Donald (Kim), Dennis (Marlene), Mary Claire (Wesley) and Paul (Janet); brother, John; sisters, Mary, Lil, Marg and Shirley. Stan also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren, Angie (Scott), Dan (Becca), Tonya, Steve (Lee), Willy (Linda), Stephen (Tammy), Mandy (Al), Kaleigh (Paul), Angel and Jeffrey; also, 12 great-grandchildren - including 'Papa's Pride and Joy' Makayla. He will also be missed by his buddy, Wendell Lynk.
Besides his parents, Stan was predeceased by his son, Stanley Lloyd Jr., brothers, Max, Raymond, three brothers in infancy, and sister, Mary Ann Hardy.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Curry's Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Rev. Daniel Boudreau officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Immaculate Conception St. Vincent DePaul Society.
