The passing of Dorothy E. Hetherington, wife of the late J. Arthur Hetherington, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on April 10, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 24, 1920 in Zealand, NB, she was a daughter of the late Sarah Burtt. Dorothy was a member of Nashwaaksis United Church and the UCW. She also was a member of the Seniors 55 Club and a Retiree of Victoria Public Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Turner (Wayne) of Fredericton, NB; sons, Garnet "Dick" Hetherington (Ann) and Douglas Hetherington both of Fredericton, NB; four grandchildren, Jaclyn Hetherington, Travis (Karen), Josh and Jeremy Turner; great grandson, Brody; one sister, Bertie Hetherington of Chipman, NB; brothers, Peter Forbes of Caverhill, NB and Hedley Forbes (Esther) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her mother, Dorothy was predeceased by an infant sister, Della Forbes; brother, Robert Forbes.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating; followed by a reception in the Fireside Room. Pallbearers for the service will be Dorothy's grandson, Josh Turner; nephews, Ritchie and Sandy Hetherington, Randy and Tim Cogswell and Lonnie Forbes. Interment will take place at Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
