It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald David Kelly announces his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his sisters: Gwen Moran (Nial) of Houston, Texas and Roslyn of Toronto; brothers: Thomas of Halifax and Phillip of New Brunswick; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Jenny Kelly and his sister, Lorna. Ron began his teaching career at the age of 20 and retired at 50. He went on to serve on the Board of Directors for Western Memorial Regional Hospital for six years. Ron was a Commissioner of Oaths and was chair for the City of Corner Brook Appeals Board for 6-7 years. Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, June 20, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
