It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the quiet passing of Susan (Susie) Reid, a daughter, sister and a friend, after a 1 1/2 year battle with cancer. She leaves to mourn her mother, Hattie Reid. Also left to grieve are her siblings, respectively: Richard (Lorna), Simeon (Alice), David (Betty), Laverne (Russ) Langdon, Felix (Olive), LLewellyn (Judy), Rita (Wade) Peddle, Anthony (Silvana), Delilah (Eric) Pardy, Darleen Reid, Ivy Nault, Wanda (Michael) Hychar, Audrey (Jerry) Peddle, Della (Con) Slade and Aubrey (Kim). Susan had 34 nieces and nephews, 36 grand-nieces and nephews and "friends" too many to recount. Special to her heart also were her "two girls", Juliana and Mollie McCarthy, who she viewed as surrogate daughters. Much thanks go to the hospital staff - doctors and nurses - of Norris Point, who rose above and beyond 'the call of duty' to give her that extra care needed during her final days. They will be forever remembered with appreciation. Susan was predeceased by her father, Arthur James Reid. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Jehovah Witness Hall in Rocky Harbour with Terry Drover officiating. Burial to follow at the family plot.
