We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lori White which took place on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Little Lorraine, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Anne (Bates) Burke. After finishing high school she joined the Royal Canadian Airforce, where she met Dave, the love of her life. They were married in 1960 and together raised three children in various parts of Canada and the United States. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this coming fall. Until we meet again we will love and remember you always. In addition to Dave, Lori is survived by son, Todd and wife, Leah of Dartmouth and her precious grandchildren, Fiona and Dorion; her daughter, Dale and Andrew of Barrington Passage and her precious grandsons, Cody and Christopher and great granddaughter, Briea; her son, Scott and wife, Deb of Wasaga Beach; also survived by sister, Irene Perry of Sydney, Geneva Locke of Main-a-Dieu; brothers, Fabian (Rita) Burke of Little Lorraine and Gerard (Mary) Burke of Ottawa; sister-in-law, Kathleen Burke of Little Lorraine and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Besides her parents, Lori was predeceased by her sister, Barbara; brothers, Joseph and Billy Burke; sister-in law, Marilyn Burke; nephews, Patrick and Brian Locke and Barry Burke; Lori was also predeceased by Dave's parents, Ron and Edna White; his brother, Darrell and is survived by Dave's brother, Teddy.
A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Marysville on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 2 pm with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Interment will take place in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Main-a-Dieu, Cape Breton at a later date. No flowers by request, donations in Lori's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
