It is with great sadness that the family of the late Victor George Kays announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the age of 71 years. He will be sadly missed by one son, Victor Cyril Kays (Waverly) of Kippens; one daughter, Arlene Jane Kays of Alabama; two brothers: Joseph Kays of Stephenville and Edward(Kay) Kays of Corner Brook; two sisters: Catherine (Jim) Vanderberry of Louisiana and Josephine (Glenn) Butler of Louisiana; his pride and joy, grandson, Shawn Michael Kays of Alabama; and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Gertrude Kays; his brother, Elmer; parents, Albert and Mary Kays. Cremation has taken place and friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Friday, April 17th from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 18th at 12:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Parish, West Street, Stephenville, with interment in the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
