Bertrand Joseph Chiasson, 83 of Margaree Harbour died April 20, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Cheticamp.
He was a son of the late Arsene J. Chiasson and Zellie (Aucoin) MacFarlane. He was a member of St. Michaels Church, East Margaree.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Doucette-Chiasson; sons, Gussie (Hilda), Joseph (Lynn), Richard (Liz); daughters, Theresa (Donald) Bishop, Bernadette Razumienko, Yvonne (Woody) Chediac; grandchildren, Richard, Shean, Monier, Jœy, Jessalynn, Kelsey, Jolise, Christina; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Marie, Jack and Devin
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by former wife, Rose Anne Chiasson; infant daughter, Marie Yvonne; brothers, Gerald and Ivan.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at St. Michael Church, East Margaree. Funeral mass will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, East Margaree. Family burial will take place at a later date.
Donations in Bertrand's memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Community Health Center or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Sunset Funeral Co-operative, Margaree Valley.
