It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Georgina Rose, 85, a resident of Center Street, North Sydney, on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Celtic Court Nursing Home, Sydney.
Born in North Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Mary (MacDougall) Steele. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Georgina is survived by her loving husband, Allan Rose; stepdaughters, Jane MacDonald, Sydney Mines, Debbie Brown, Florence; stepson, David (Nœlle) Rose, North Sydney; six step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Allison Murphy, and brothers, Garvin, Ernie, John R. and Gordon Steele, a niece, Allison Steele, nephew, John Steele and grandnephew, Danny Steele.
Visitation for Georgina will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
