The death of Edwin Dale Hunter occurred unexpectedly at his residence on April 25, 2010. Born in Saint John on May 7, 1947, he was a son of the late John and Eva (Toner) Hunter. Dale retired as a welder with the Saint John Ship Building and later worked with Brunswick News as a paper carrier. Dale was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fly-fishing and hunting. Surviving are loving wife of 40 years Shirley (Chandler) Hunter; children Kimberly Hebert (Lew); June Hunter; Scott Hunter; brothers Andy Hunter (Marie) and Austin Hunter; sisters Reba Elvin, Bonnie McMillan (Brian), Phyllis Koval (Jack) and Elsie Smith; cherished grandchildren Courtney, Lucas, Zack, Jordan, Ben and Cody. Several nieces, nephews and cousins; special nephew Tim Hunter (Sharon). Besides his parents, Dale was predeceased by a brother Jack Hunter and a nephew Reuben Smith.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424), visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Funeral Service will be held From Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday at 10 am. Interment will follow in Mispec Cemetery. Donations in memory of Dale may be made to the Church of Saint John and St. Stephen Nursing Home the donor's choice.
