John Hawboldt
GUYSBOROUGH/MILLSVILLE - John James Hawboldt, 77, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough, formerly of Millsville, passed away at the home on April 25, 2010, with his family by his side.
Born in Westville, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Lizzie (McCabe) Hawboldt.
Although John began and ended his working career in the woods and spent a few years as a painter, most will remember him for the 37 years he spent doing drywall finishing throughout Northern Nova Scotia.
John is survived by his wife of 49 years, "Peggy" Margaret (Cameron), Millsville; daughters: Patricia (Ron) Irving, Scotsburn; Esther (Pat) Trail, Dufferin; Janine (David) Watson, Brampton, Ont.; sons, John (Christina), Green Hill; Jason (Selena), Millsville; grandchildren: Lisa and Christopher Irving; Johnathan, Jeremy and Tyler Trail; Jaymie, Kamryn and Lachlan Watson; Lesley and Hilary Hawboldt; Peyton and Kaitlyn Hawboldt; sister, Harriet Marshall, Sylvester; sisters-in-law: Mona Hawboldt, Trenton; Grace Hawboldt, Scotsburn; Isabel and Christine Hawboldt, British Columbia; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by sisters: Laura, Minnie and Doris; brothers: Bert, Weldon, Clarence, Gordon, Charlie, and Eldon; nephew, Alfred Hawboldt.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A graveside committal service will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Gladstone Cemetery, Four Mile Brook.
Family flowers only. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
