
Charles Lœwen
LŒWEN - Charles (Chuck) Allen Lœwen passed away in the Regina Pasqua Hospital on April 13, 2010. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Nina Lœwen, and brother-in-law Lloyd Bokor. Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anne (Bokor), his son Randy (Shelly) and his daughter Bonnie (Richard) all of Mankota; sister Marion (Bev) Taylor of Thornbury, ON; brother-in-law Frank (Audrey) Bokor; brother-in-law Ernest (Debbie) Bokor; sister-in-law Frieda Bokor; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Chuck was born on August 2, 1935, at Kincaid, SK. He attended Return Country School and took his high school at Luther College in Regina. Chuck loved ranching and lived all his life on the ranch in the McEachern hills. His love of animals showed by his petting every dog or cat he saw. He worked hard with his partner Bonnie to make the ranch better by having irrigation-pivots, flooding and steadily improving his cow herd. Chuck was a very positive person and always had a joke ready to tell. He wrote cowboy pœtry and wrote under the pen name Joshua Johnson for the Saskatchewan Stockgrower Magazine. Chuck was very community minded - was councillor, worked on the health boards and did much volunteer work. He was honest, generous, a good neighbour, a great and loving father, and a proud husband. A Service of Remembrance was held on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 2:00 pm in the Mankota Agricultural Hall, with Ruby Sayers officiating. Urn Bearers were Rienhold and Sheila Gebhart. A tribute was given by Murray Gurski. Mankota Community Choir, accompanied by organist, Lillian Klein led the hymns "Whispering Hope" and "In the Garden". During the processional and recessional, favorite music of Chuck's was played. Donations in memory for Chuck may be made to the Regina Cancer Patient Lodge, 4104 Dewdney Ave., Regina S4T 1A3.
