The death of Helen L. Smith occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010. Born in Ludlow, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen (Hovey) Palmer and the wife of the late John (Jack) R. Smith. Helen loved her garden at Harts Lake and the outdoors. She was an avid quilter and crafts person and loved seeing her grandchildren visit. In recent years she made many friends at Your at Home Retreat and came to think of them as her family. Survived by three daughters, Heather Stevens (Mark) of Cody's, NB; Lynda Smith of Fredericton, NB Susan McAllister (Peter) of Fredericton, NB, and seven grandchildren; Kim, Kelly, Kent, Julie, Lesley, Angela and Justin; thirteen great grandchildren, one daughter - in -law, Sandra Smith of Hammond River; sister - in - law, Marjorie Bemrose. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Jack and son, Donald Smith. There will be no visitation by request; a private funeral service will be held in the McAdam's Funeral Home at a later date. Rev. David Barrett will officiate. Interment will be in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
