It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violet Edith Lewis on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow.
A former resident of Sydney River, she was the daughter of the late Murray and Ida (Boutilier) Lewis.
She was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Cossitt and brother, Lloyd Lewis.
Violet is survived by her sister, Hazel Burns, Valley View Villa, Stellarton; sister-in-law, Margaret Lewis, Halifax; nephews, Roy Cossitt (Georgie) and Bob Cossitt (Betty); nieces, Franklyn Holman, Murida Bailey and Roberta (John) Hancock.
Violet was a member of St. Mark's Anglican Church and a faithful choir member. She was a long time employee of Crowells Ltd.
Visitation for Violet will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Sunday 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday 2 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church, with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment in St. Marks Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
