Father Clifford Tremblay passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 in his home with close family and friends by his side at the age of 81 years. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2 from Sacred Heart Cathedral - 1401 - 4th Avenue West. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 3 from Sacred Heart Cathedral by Most Reverend Albert Thévenot, M. Afr., Bishop of Prince Albert. Father Cliff is survived by his brother Michael Tremblay and children Chris and Celine; his sister Georgette (Wayne) Gentner and their children Gordon and Kevin and families; his aunt Edna Rudichuk of Wakaw and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Phœbe. Father Cliff was born in Wakaw on January 2, 1929 to Chrys and Cecilia (nee Trombley) Tremblay. He attended elementary school at St. Patrick's Orphanage in Prince Albert and high school at St. Peter's College in Muenster, SK. He went to St. Joseph's Seminary in Edmonton and theological studies at St. Boniface, MB. He was ordained in Bonne Madone, SK on July 2, 1956. From 1957 - 1987 he was a teacher, principal of St. Mary High School (1957-1964), was the school psychologist for the Prince Albert Catholic Schools from 1964 to 2002, then was the Director of Personnel until 1987. His pastoral work began with his first parish in Big River in 1956 - 1957, St. Mary Parish in Christopher Lake (1973 - 1987); pastor of St. Eugene Parish, Nipawin (1987 - 1992); pastor of St. Mark (1992 - 2007); Director of Prince Albert Catholic Orphanage (1968 - 1973); Chaplain of the Holy Family Hospital (1958 - 1968); Vicar General (2007 - Present). Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. It is the family's request that donations be made to the Diocese of Prince Albert.
