Allan Herbert Rouse Sr., 75, Big Marsh Road, Inverness Co., died Monday, May 4, 2009 in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
Born in Upper River Denys, he was a son of the late Harry and Kathleen (Large) Rouse. He was retired from the Department of Transportation, where he was a construction foreman and in his earlier years Allan worked with the D.O.T. as a snow plow operator. He also worked at the Heavy Water plant and was also a dozer operator.
Allan leaves to mourn his daughters, Jennifer (Richard) LeDue, Whycocomagh, Kathleen (Brian) Richardson, Lake Ainslie; sons, Allan (Allison), Iron Mines, Willie (Joan), Calgary, Alta., Richard (Margie), Blues Mills, Leslie (Tammy), Big Marsh Road; sisters, Wilena Ryan, Port Hawkesbury; brothers, Gordon (Diane) River Denys and Edward (Faye), Keystoke; grandchildren, Matthew (Amy), Bryien (Stacey), Lance (Katelyn), Jody, Emma, Ethan, Cody, Shelby, Mitchell, Blake, Zachary, Desmond, Thomas, Marissa and Avery; great-granddaughter, Sophia.
Allan was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (Nock) and his parents, Harry and Kathleen Rouse.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m., Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in River Denys Presbyterian Church with Rev. Adam Lees officiating. Burial in Upper River Denys Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Allan may be made to River Denys Presbyterian Church, Victoria County Hospice Society or Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck.
