1916 - 2010 - Lloyd Hicks of Riverview passed away peacefully at The Veteran's Health Centre on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Born in McKees Mills, NB son of the late Fred and Bertha (Biggs) Hicks. He will be sadly missed by one daughter, Darlene (Dennis) Hansen of Lakeville, one son, Don (Donna) Hicks of Windsor, ON, six grandchildren; Nick, Matt, Erin, Jessica, Stephanie and Jason as well as one great granddaughter, Trinity. He is also survived by three brothers, Harvey, Calvin and Gordon as well as one sister, Hellen Warner. Besides his parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his wife Edna Hicks (2009). As a Veteran of WWII, Lloyd was best known for his dry wit and beautiful blue eyes, which reflected his kind and generous, but quiet soul. His passion for the great outdoors was evident in his love for hunting and fishing with brothers and friends alike. As an entrepreneur and family man, he gave unselfishly of himself and asked nothing in return. He will be greatly missed as he continues on his journey. Love you Dad.
Visitation will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 12:30 pm to 1:50 pm followed by a memorial service in the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. A reception to follow in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations in Lloyd's memory made to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated by the family.
