Violet Annie Peeling of Moose Jaw, passed away on May 5, 2009, at the age of 101 years. Violet was born November 22, 1907 at Pierson, MB. She married Robert Peeling in 1931 and they farmed at Spring Valley until 1964 when they retired to town. Violet moved to Moose Jaw in 1978. She was a charter member of the Saskatchewan Home Maker’s Club, a member of Branch Five and Secretary for the Saskatchewan Seniors. She was a very active club worker. Violet knit during the War and was still knitting dishcloths at 100 years old. Predeceased by her husband Robert Henry Peeling in 1974, her parents Lucy and Fred Draper and a great-granddaughter, Violet is survived by three children: Robert (Donna); Mae (Dan) Zaremba and Grant (Wilma); seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 3:30 pm. The Reverend Deacon Arleen Champion will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, 455 Fairford St. E., Moose Jaw, S6H 1H3, would be appreciated.
