Dennis Doyle, 69, of Wood Avenue, New Waterford, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2010, at home.
Born in New Waterford on April 16, 1941, he was a son of the late Dennis Sr. and Margaret (Roach) Doyle of New Waterford.
Dennis was a retired coal miner of 35 years who loved fishing, gardening and music.
He is survived by his wife, the former Helen McNeil; three sons, James, David (Amber), both of Sylvan Lake, Alta., Michael (Bonnie), Sackville, N.S.; three daughters, Sherry (Lorne) MacLean, Pictou, N.S., Carol (Rod) Ploughman, Georgetown, Ont., Nicole (Mark) Kennedy, Mineville, N.S.; six brothers, Roger (Wendy), Waverly, Brady (Marilyn), Dartmouth, Raymond (Olivia), Ontario, Robert (Debbie), Alberta, Paul (Cathy), New Waterford, Patrick, Ontario; three sisters, Judy (Lennie) Benoit, B.C., Margaret Ann Doyle (Joe), Dartmouth, Theresa (Rick) Tufts, Halifax; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Dennis was predeceased by two brothers, Terry and David, one sister, Phyllis and former wife, Mary Ellen 'Mamie' MacEachern.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, where a private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
