Kenneth White, 67, of New Waterford passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Peter and Julie (Girouard) White.
Kenny worked as an electrician for most of his life, but a passion for the sea led him to become a fisherman for several years.
In recent years, Kenny faced tremendous challenges due to physical limitations but, in spite of them, he lived his life to its fullest. He especially enjoyed travelling, computers and spending time with the lights of his life, his precious grandchildren.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Brenda (Denton); daughter, Arlene (Bill) Turner, Glace Bay; brothers, Simon (Bobby) and Alex (Rose), both of New Waterford; grandchildren, Daniel and Kate Turner; and a sister-in-law, Grace White, New Waterford.
He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Carmella in infancy, brothers, William, Peter, James, Terrance and Michael.
Funeral mass will take place Thursday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in Mount Carmel Church with Rev. Doug MacDonald officiating. Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Memorials may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Palliative Care or charity of choice.
