John A. Norwood passed away May 2nd, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Gagetown, NB on February 27th, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Edith Norwood of Gagetown. John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Greta Marie (Molasky) Norwood. He will be sadly missed by his brothers, Arnold of Gagetown, William (Mary Jean) of Saint John, Ralph (Brenda) of Jemseg and Robert (Betty) of Gagetown; sisters, Marion Jackson of Cambridge, ON, Donna Neilsen (Leif) Baden of ON and Helen Norwood (Robert Charles) of Gowanstown, ON and several neices and nephews. In addition to his father and mother, John was predeceased by sister-in-law, Barbara (Peters) Norwood and brother-in-law, Charles Jackson. John lived and worked in Saint John before moving to Halifax. In the Halifax-Dartmouth area John worked at Construction and Maintenance, mostly in the Burnside Industrial Park, with many happy memories. John was an attendant at the Evangel Temple, served on the Deacon's Board, taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. John also enjoyed singing with the Gospel Lights in various churches in NS. John also sang with the Worship Team at the Jemseg Baptist Church when he moved back to NB.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 from 6 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Jemseg Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 5th at 11am with Reverend Daniel Walton officiating. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens, Saint John.
