S. Joan Smith, 75, of Riverview and formerly of Amherst, NS, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, May 3, 2010. Born in Springhill, NS, she was the daughter of the late Jean (McManaman) McLean. Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, who enjoyed playing cards (especially 45's), was an avid reader and spending time with her family. Joan will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sherri E. Stillman (Steven), Riverview; grandchildren, Jean Ricker (Geoff Huxter), Justin, Jordan; great grandchildren, Lillian, Madison and Conor; brother, Gordon McLean (Faye), Dartmouth, NS; sister, Jeanette Babineau (Roger), Moncton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother, predeceased by her husband, Hilton Smith (1997).
No visitation or funeral service by personal request. Interment, Shinimicas Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, NS.
