Jessie Mazar of Ashcroft passed away suddenly while recuperating from hip surgery on April 15, 2010 at age 79.
She will be missed by her loving husband John of Ashcroft, sister-in-law Myrna of Texas, step-sons Mike (Linda) of Prince George, B.J. of Ashcroft, daughter-in-law June of Prince George, grandchildren Melissa, Teresa (Pat) and their mother Marian, Cindy (Derek), Corrina, Jenna, Kelsey, Jessica, Kassidy and Nicholas and great-grandson Jack. She will also be missed by numerous other relatives and many friends, all of whom were a special part of her life.
Predeceased by her mother Winnie, step-father Scottie, brother Joe, mother-in-law Edith, father-in-law Metro Mike, brother-in-law Bob and her two sons Gary and Gerald Mytruk.
Jessie was born in New Norway, Alberta and was raised there until she met and married Bill Mytruk and moved to Vancouver where her two sons were born. She worked for Woodwards in Vancouver, later transferring to Kamloops. She left Woodwards and moved to Barriere, Cache Creek and eventually ending up in Ashcroft, managing the cleaning and maintenance dept. in the Ashcroft Hospital. She then opened her own business "Pet Services" of Ashcroft which she sold in 1998 and retired.
Jessie loved her flower gardens. She had an exceptional green thumb and spent endless hours in her greenhouse. Her gardens and pots were amazing.
Jessie loved her ceramics and especially her porcelain dolls. She enjoyed teaching and sharing her knowledge with others.
Jessie loved spending time with her family and friends and loved to cook. She always made sure nobody went home hungry!
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Ponderosa Lodge for their care and kindness during her last few weeks.
No funeral will be held at the request of the family. A get-together for family and friends will be held at a later date.
No flowers please, a donation to your favourite charity in memory of Jessie would be kindly appreciated.
