Passed away in the presence of his loving family at St. Clares Mercy Hospital after a short illness on 2 May 2010, Charles Edward Reid, aged 74 of Paradise, NL. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Lucille of Juniper Stump, Mackinsons, his brothers: Louis and Rayford, his sister Louise and his former wife Helena (Burke of Tilting, Fogo Island, NL). Leaving to mourn his children: Paul (Janet) and Judy (Ron Foley); beloved grandchildren: Stephanie, Sarah and Adam; his sister Violet Turner and brothers: Russ (Pickering, Ont.) and Jack (Acton, Ont.); and a large circle of family and friends. Charlie was a 40 year member of International Brotherhood of Ironworkers, Local 721 of Toronto, Ont. Charlie was a wonderful father and grandpa and will be dearly missed and forever remembered. At his request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. A memorial service will be held from Barrett's Chapel on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 12 p.m. with interment to follow at a later date.
