Leslie A. Buzzell, 88, of Moncton, with members of his family at his side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, May 6, 2010. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Gertrude (Hannigan) Buzzell. Les was Chairman of the Board of Robert K. Buzzell Ltd., with 70 years service. He joined the company in 1939, served three years in the RCAF (1942-1945) and served as Director of the Canadian Automobile Electrical Association (CAEA) on two different occasions. On three occasions, he served on the AC Delco Distributor Council of General Motors. He was a member and past president of the Moncton Rotary Club, past president, Moncton Junior Chamber of Commerce, past president of Play Time Projects Ltd., past president of St. Patrick's Family Centre, past chairman, Blood Donor Committee, Moncton Area Canadian Red Cross, member and past councillor, Moncton Chamber of Commerce, past director, Moncton United Way, past member of the Executive, Moncton & District Boy Scouts Association and past president of the Probus Club of Moncton. He attended St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed doing genealogy, travelling, but first and foremost was spending precious time with his family. Les will be sadly missed by his children, Jane McEachern (Robert-Bobby), Prospect Bay, NS, John, Robert (Bob) (Paulette), Howard (Janet), all of Moncton; grandchildren, Jennifer Strickland (Mark), Lindsay Buzzell, Katie and Alicia McEachern; great granddaughter, Bryanna (2 months); sisters-in-law, Lorraine Mallon, Sarnia, ON, Lillian Buzzell, Moncton; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Eleanor (Howard) Buzzell (1998); sister, Margaret; brother, Robert (Bob).
