Edgar Robert England‐ born September 16, 1948.
It is with great sadness that the family announce the quiet passing of Edgar on April 15, 2009, at the hospice in Calgary, after a short illness. Edgar attended school in Mawer and Central Butte and at the age of 16 he went to Alberta to work as a rigger. He came home, married and started his family while living in Moose Jaw and working at Kalium. He later moved is family back to Alberta. After being injured while rigging he spent 11 years working in construction, paving and driving semi (like his brothers). He is survived by his children – Jodi (Ron), Chad (Denise), Michael (Trish), Dena (Eddie), Carla (Aaron) and five grandchildren; his mother Lydia Pattie, three brothers; Barrie (Jean), Everett (Pam), Calvin (Darlene), two sisters Glennys, Holly (Ron), sister in law; Holly England; fourteen nieces, ten nephews, five great nieces, six great nephew, and one special “Kissin Cousin” Wanda Childs of Spangle, Washington who’s phone call always seemed to brighten his day. The mother of his children, Sharon (Steve), Barry Small, Art Sadler. Edgar was predeceased by his dad, Percy; Sister, Linda; brother, Lyle; brother‐in‐law, Louie; maternal and paternal grandparents, special Uncle Bob; one great nephew and great niece and two nephews.
Edgar was a very hard worker, on his last day of work Edgar passed out and was taken to the Peter Lougheed Hospital where his final six weeks began. Edgar had been moved to the hospice when he left this world for a better place. We would like to thank his Alberta friends who visited him everyday when his family couldn’t; the nurses and doctors including Dr. Davis at the hospital as well as the hospice workers. A memorial tea was held in Calgary on April 19. As per Edgar’s wishes, a graveside funeral will be held at the family plot in Tugaske on July 4, 2009 at 2:00pm. Myrna Briggs Enns will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, PO Box 309, Saskatoon Sask, S7K 3L3
