It is with deep regret that we the family announce the passing of Albert Alexander, on Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. He passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Mrs. Rose (O'Neill) Alexander and the late Arnold Alexander.
Albert was employed as a commissionaire in various Cape Breton locations. Over the years, Albert was actively involved in playing and coaching hockey and baseball. One of Albert's greatest pleasures was watching the Chicago Blackhawks.
Besides his mother, Rose, Albert is survived by his son, Gregory Alexander, Prime Brook; and his brother, Brian (Janet) Alexander, St. Albert, Alta.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Albert was predeceased by his father, Arnold (2009) and brother, Gregory (1985).
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 11 at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 6-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Patrick O'Neill officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
