It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and aunt Sylvia Lemon, 91, a resident of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, and a former resident of Forman Street, North Sydney on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Harbourstone.
Born in Morrisville, Bay de Spear, N.L., she was a daughter of the late John and Grace (Kendall) Bobbitt.
Sylvia was a member of the Sydney Pentecostal Church. She was active for many years in her church as a Sunday school teacher and as a Women Ministries Leader.
Sylvia is survived by her sister, Effie Patey, North Sydney; and by many nieces and nephews; a special niece with whom she resided for the past 20 years, Patti (Rev. Ron) Coole, Sydney.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Mauger, second husband, Louis Lemon, brothers, Maxwell and Raymond Stoodley, Albert and Leonard Bobbitt, a sister, Elsie Ongo.
Visitation for Sylvia will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ron Coole officiating. Burial to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may made to the Sydney Pentecostal Church Building Fund.
