Passed peacefully away on May 8, 2010, at St. Patrick's Mercy Home surrounded by her loving family, Kathleen Beresford, aged 92 years. Predeceased by her husband James (1974); parents Thomas and Mary Cain; and siblings Jack, Thomas, Joseph, Gerald, Ursaline, Ann, Helen and Eileen. Left to mourn are her daughters: Eileen Young (Vic) and Anne Buckle (John); her sons: Frank (Gladys), Phil (Nina), Jim and Gerry (Ann); her grandchildren: Andrew (Jennifer), Victoria (Paul), Michael, Katherine (Greg), John (Andrea), Amanda (Mike), Dale (Jody), James (Katri), Kathie (Stefan), Lisa (Shannon), Heather, Meaghan and Laura; and her great-grandchildren: Emma, Victor, Charlie, Emilie, Caroline, Anna, Riley, Owen, Noah, Isabella, Alexandra, Ryan, Matias, Milna, Stephanie, Luci, Seamus, Claire and Aiden. Also left to mourn are her brother Fred; her sister Margaret; brother-in-law Mike Beresford; and sister-in-law Marie Cain; as well as a large number of nephews, nieces and friends. Kay's family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of St. Patrick's Mercy Home, as well as Drs. Marie O'Dea and Patrick O'Shea for the love and care shown to our Mother during these past years. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 5-9 p.m. and Monday, May 10, 2010 from 10 a.m.-12 noon; 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Pius X Church, Smithville Crescent on Tuesday, May 11th, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Topsail Rd. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Kay's memory may be made to the St. Patrick's Mercy Home Foundation, St. Bonaventure's College or a charity of one's choice.
