Allie Burchell, 58, of Brookside Street, Glace Bay, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, May 8, 2010.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Howard Frederick and Rita Artis (Alison) Burchell.
Allie worked for the Water Department in the Town of Glace Bay. He was a member of Holy Cross Church. Allie had a great sense of humour and was a pleasant, easygoing man who loved his family very dearly, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his two daughters, Allisha, Lindsay (Kenny); and one son, James, all in Glace Bay. Also surviving are seven brothers, one sister, four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Allie was predeceased by his parents and a brother in infancy.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. A funeral mass will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church with Fr. Leo Boone officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment for Allie will be in the parish cemetery.
