It is with great sadness that the family of the late Augustus Hayward Reid announce his sudden passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 at the age of 78 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: his wife, Ruby (nee Pollett), his children: Todd (Diane) and Donna (Todd) Hoyles, both of Deer Lake; his 5 grandchildren: Mark, Andrew, Hillary, Heather and Lucas; his brothers: Rendell (Rita) of Norris Point, Donald (Sarah) of Manitoba, James (Marjorie) of Norris Point, Rex (June) of Brampton, Ontario, Harvey (Mary Normore) of Corner Brook, Clayton (Ivy) of Green Island Brook, Alton (Marlyn) of Burkley, Ontario, Ronald of Brampton, Ontario and Woodrow (Pierrette) of North Bay, Ontario; his sisters: Mrs. Vera Welsh of Woody Point, Victoria (Stanley Smith) of St. John's, NL and Bessie Upwards (Roy Laing) of Norris Point; his sisters-in law: Mrs. Fern Coles and Sylvia Reid both of Corner Brook; his brother-in-law, Russell Pollett of Marystown. Also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Augustus was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Eileen Reid; his brothers-in-law: John Welsh, Maxwell Upwards and Newman Sparkes. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL today, Thursday, May 7th, 2009 from the hours of 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, May 8th, 2009 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 9th, 2009 from the St. Michael's & All Angel's Anglican Church in Deer Lake, with the Canon John Meade officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery on Wights Road in Deer Lake. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake.
