NEW GLASGOW - Mary Louise (Price) Stallard, age 93 years, of the Valley View Villa, Riverton, passed away on Wednesday May 12th, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Stellarton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ellen (Manuel) Price.
Mary and her late husband Bill spent many summers at their cottage at Black Point where Mary spent a lot of time in the water helping children learn to swim. In later years she taught exercises for seniors and took part in the legion choir and Ukulele band. Mary and her good neighbour, Belle Sangster, enjoyed walks for the Terry Fox and others. She was a member of St. George's Church Choir, the Eastern Star, the Rebekah Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary of Branch #34 Royal Canadian Legion, and the 55 Plus Club.
Surviving are her stepdaughter, Edith Blakeney of Stellarton; her stepson, Bill Stallard of Lincoln, New Brunswick; two step-grandsons, Robert and Richard; also a sister-in-law, Doris Price of Stellarton; a number of nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, William (Bill) Stallard Sr.; brothers: Frank, Joe, Albert (Razz); sisters, Amelia (Minnie) and Beatrice; also a brother and sister in infancy; a niece, Shirley Pothier
The family will receive visitors on Monday from 7-9 p.m. in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial will be in the Lorne Street Cemetery. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Valley View Villa Bus Fund or to a charity of one's choice.
