It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear son, brother, grandson, uncle and friend, Grant Clarke. Grant slipped away Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Northside General Hospital with his family by his side.
He is survived by his loving parents, Aubrey and Phyllis Clarke of North Sydney; his brothers, Victor (Ella), Edmonton, Derrick (Lynn), Taber, Alta., David (Stacey), Bridgewater, N.S.; his maternal grandmother, Agnes Ransome, Cambridge, Ont.; and by his nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his Barrington Street extended family and the Society for the Treatment of Autism (NS) management, as well as the staff of Donald and Marion Squarey, who stayed by Grant's side. A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Elizabeth MacCormick and the nursing staff of the Northside General Hospital who took special care of Grant during his stay at the hospital.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, George and Freda Clarke, and his maternal grandfather, Todd Ransome.
Grant left all who knew him broken hearted because of his unique and special spirit.
Visitation for Grant will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, with cremation to follow. Burial to take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Grant's name to the Society of the Treatment of Autism.
