Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, Dorothy Georgena Warr of Lewisporte, age 84 years. Predeceased by sisters Verna Dalley and Lauretta Reid, and brother Oswald Elliott. Leaving to mourn with many wonderful memories, husband of 61 years, Mark and daughter Marilyn (husband David Rabbitts); brother Lloyd Elliott (Anna); brother-in-law Charlie Warr (Ruth); sisters-in-law: Nellie Taite (Sam), Joan Abbott (Ted), Edna Taite, Vivian Warr and Levitta Warr, also many very special nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews as well as many very dear friends. Resting at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte on Thursday 7-9 p.m., Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday morning from St. Matthew’s United Church at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Matthew’s United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Daffodil House, or a charity of one’s choice. No flowers by request.
