The passing of Anne Bernetta Bowes of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 11, 1920 in Blissfield, NB, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Bernetta (Colford) Bowes. She was formerly affiliated with Our Lady of The Annunciation Church. Anne worked in Administration for Northern Electric and then Air Canada for 23 years, before retiring in 1985. She enjoyed travelling, walking and loved dogs. Anne is survived by her 14 nieces and nephews, Madona Clark, Norma Pyne, Carol Allies, Melvin, John and Ronald McDonald, Freda Grey, Louise Peterson, Patricia Hunter, Marie Costello, Noreen, William, Reginald and Robert Porter; several great nieces and nephews. Anne was the last surviving member of her immediate family, besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Mary (James) Porter, Murdock (Pauline) Bowes, Margaret (Everett) MacDonald, Simon Bowes and infant sister, Aileen.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 from 3 to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady of The Annunciation Church on Wednesday, Doaktown, N.B, May 19, 2010 at 2 pm with Father Jacques R. Landry as celebrant. Interment will take place in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Our Lady of The Annunciation Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
