The passing of Chester Aubrey Dean of Fredericton, NB, husband of Dorothy (Hooper) Dean, occurred on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 29, 1922 in Point Wolfe, Albert County, NB, he was the son of the late Otto and Myrtle (Kelly) Dean. His family moved to Campbellton, NB when Chester was four years of age. After his schooling in Campbellton he joined the RCAF in 1942, where he served in Canada and overseas, retiring from the Air Force in 1946. Chester's first job following the war was with Fraser's Pulp and Paper Mill in Atholville, NB, where he remained for ten years. At the time he was invited to join the Department of Labour in Fredericton and throughout the years was promoted to various positions ending his career as Deputy Minister of Labour. Grace Memorial Baptist Church was close to his heart, where he was a member for 52 years and where he served on many boards and committees. In addition to his wife, Dorothy of 65 years, Chester is survived by his son, Donald Bruce and daughter-in-law, Pamela Joy both of Lower Queensbury, NB; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Francis Dickie and brothers, John and Raymond.
Visitation will take place at Grace Memorial Baptist Church on Friday, May 28, 2010 from 12 noon until 2 pm, followed by a Funeral Service with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. A Reception will follow at the church. A Private Family Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrance may be made to the donor's choice.
