Slipped quietly from earth's bright day into the eternal light of heaven, reuniting with his son Douglas, his parents Jabez and Kate, his sister, Thelma and her husband Ephraim Knee, his several stepsisters and stepbrothers, his parents-in-law, Henry and Carrie Oram and his brother-in-law Garland Oram. Leaving behind with saddened hearts his wife of 62 years, Effie (nee Oram), his daughters: Linda (Deryck) Harnett and Bernice (Bill) Jamer, his son Dr. Ken (Marcie) Jenkins, daughter-in-law Diane Jenkins; his grandchildren: Christopher and Gregory Jenkins, Jennifer and Victoria Harnett, Bill and Jessica Jamer, Nigel, Michael and Emily Jenkins, two dear little great grandchildren: Riley and Ciara, his sister-in-law Blanche Oram and her children, his sister Thelma's children as well as several other nieces and nephews and a large circle of neighbors and friends. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home 167 Country Road on Friday May 28, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday May 29, 2010 from 10-12 noon. Funeral service will take place at Oakland United Church, Oakes Road on Saturday May 29, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Wayne Cole officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully declined, memorial donations may be made to Oakland United Church Fund.
