Peacefully at the P.E.I. Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home, Charlottetown, on Saturday, May 9, 2009, of Mrs. Evelyn M. Knowles (nee Monaghan) formerly of Haviland Court, aged 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Wilfred Knowles and dear mother of Patricia (Gil) Gaudet of Halifax, N.S. Mrs. Knowles will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her granddaughters, Amanda (Tim) Spargo of Napean, Ontario, Sarah (Rob) MacLean of Bedford, N.S. great-granddaughter, “Lauren’’ Evelyn Spargo and her sister, Kathleen Carr of Charlottetown, her brother, Gerald Monaghan of Keppoch and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Wilfred, she was predeceased by three infant children, her parents; James and Ella (Larkin) Monaghan, her sister, Marjorie Swinbernson, brother, Ivan Monaghan. Resting at Hennessey Funeral Home from where a public funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. with interment to follow in the family plot at the Roman Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, memorial donations in her memory can be made to a charity of your choice. To honour her request, there will be no public visitation.
